winter essentials 2015

Hello, lovely bloggers! How are you all doing today? I'm doing great, considering it's the weekend now and winter break is finally here. This whole week has been hell for me, but I'm just glad it's all over. Time to kick back, relax, and enjoy the moments I have with my loved ones.

Speaking of winter, I've put together a blog post featuring the things I thought would be essential to surviving the winter. We've got a list of clothing and miscellaneous items and I hope this will help any of you at all! Let's get started, now shall we?

Clothing-wise, I am a huge fanatic for a good cozy sweater. Lately, I've been loving turtle necks, generally everything that involves a high neckline. These are so essential during the winter because, of course, you can always layer them up to keep you nice and warm. My favorite way to wear these sweaters are with high-waisted pants, tucked in the front, and paired with a loose cardigan/jacket for that extra warmth.

To go for extra comfort, don some booties with cute socks peeking over the top a little. Very cute, very warm, very essential for the winter.
Now on to the miscellaneous! Here are the top 10 things on my winter essentials list:
1. Fuzzy blankets--absolutely a must-have. I know my winter break is all about relaxing, so I know I'm going to be surrounded by blankets at all times.
2. Face masks-- I don't know about you but my skin tends to get dry during the colder months of the year. Putting on face masks, coupled with face moisturizer, will help keep my face retain its smooth complexion!)
3. Lip scrubs/ lip butter-- As my face gets dry, so do my lips. These two together are like angels sent from above. I highlight recommend Lush's Mint Julip lip scrub.
4. Candles-- to get the mood of the holidays spreading. My favorite is Mahogany Teakwood from Bath and Body works!
5. Body Moisturizer
6. Books/Magazines-- to help keep me entertained during these few weeks of relaxation! I'm currently reading The Bell Jar and Handmaid's Tale.
7. Fuzzy house slippers
8. Cute mugs--for those delicious hot cocoas/teas/coffees
9. Kodak film camera--to document those memories, especially for the times spent with my loves during the holidays
10. CDs--to get my X-Mas jam on!!

I've also put together two outfits I thought would be really cute and cozy for the winter (especially since California winters aren't really winters... Just really cold wind.)

And there it is, your winter essentials of 2015. I hope you guys liked this kind of inspirational blog post and take a thing or two from it. Tell me, what is your winter essential? I want to know! I hope you all have a lovely holiday, spent with the people you love most. I will talk to you soon! Expect a DIY in the next post, coming this week! Happy blogging, loves!
